In order to perform at the top of their sport, high level golfers must take in and utilize an extreme amount of information just to make one shot.
They are easily prone to âanalysis paralysisâ, keeping them caught up in information overload and indecision.
When I rode cross country I had a keen ability to know what I needed to doâhowever, when I found myself on the showjumping phase I often found myself caught up within my own head of second-guessing myself leading to rail after rail after railâŠ.
It was frustrating and disheartening.
Nailing dressage and cross country to botch showjumping on the last day of a 3-day weekend all because my overanalyzing got in the way.
If I had utilized this incredibly powerful skill back then, I know I would have been unstoppable in my sport.
Do you know what it is?
Shout out your answer below to find out. đ
May you appreciate the buds and clover as much as your horse.
Soak up the sun.
Hand graze your horse.
And take in the sweet smells of spring.
Your pot of gold awaits within the rainbow of presence.

Stop trying to make your students better.
Whether you teach horse riding, yoga, or in a classroomâ
You cannot improve your students.
They can only improve themselves.
Your job is to show them a way how.
When you take on the weight of trying to transform their riding, their confidence, their fearsâŠ
You are trying to control something that is completely out of your control.
It is not your job to fix others.
Itâs not even your job to help themâ
It is your job to show them how they can help themselves.
Show them a way to ride stronger.
Show them a way to connect with their horse deeper.
Show them a way to gain more confidence, in and out of the saddle.
All you are doing is planting seeds.
It is up to them to do the rest.
Let them be empowered by their own self-improvementâ
Donât try to take that away from themâyou canât.
The next time you find yourself blaming your teaching for their lack of progress, just remember that you only have one thing youâre here for:
Plant seedsâŠ
Then watch them bloom. đș
There is a heaviness you carry.
You may not understand where it comes from or what its purpose isâyour only task is to feel it.
Your horse feels it too, and they want to show you the way through it.
Let them.
Stand with them,
Place your left hand on your heart,
Place your right hand on theirs.
Close your eyes and breathe.
Meet your horse in the present moment and they will show you the way out.
Youâre not alone.
You are figuring this out.
Your horse has your back.
