Today, as we celebrate the 4th of July and the freedoms we often take for granted, my thoughts are with the people of Ukraine.

While we gather with family, watch fireworks, and celebrate Independence Day, millions of Ukrainians will spend another night listening for air raid sirens, wondering if their homes will still be standing tomorrow.

Freedom isn’t just a word. It’s something they’re fighting for every single day.

Today I’m grateful for the freedoms we enjoy here in the United States, and I’m thinking of those who are still risking everything to protect theirs.

From all of us at Hope Across Borders, we stand with Ukraine—not just today, but every day.

Nearly 3,000 pounds.

Last week’s shipment brought Hope Across Borders to an unexpected milestone:

2,949 pounds of humanitarian aid shipped to Ukraine through Meest over the past two years.

Just a few pounds shy of 3,000.

This shipment included socks and underwear for a new orphanage we’ll visit next month, along with coats and snow pants for children participating in our Monthly Essentials Program.

Although it’s summer here, winter preparations in Ukraine begin months in advance. Shipping can take time, which means the coats children will need later this year are already making their way across the ocean.

As we prepare for our 10th trip to Ukraine, we’re grateful for everyone who has donated an item, packed a box, shared a post, or supported this work along the way.

In 3 weeks , Hope Across Borders will return to Ukraine for our 10th humanitarian trip.

Over the course of two weeks, we’ll visit displaced families, deliver aid in villages, and spend time with children living in three orphanages that together are home to 251 children.

Every trip begins the same way: open suitcases, growing piles of supplies, and lists that always seem longer than the available space.

There is still room in these bags.

We’re hoping to bring:

The message was simple:

“Can you help us with food?”

Somehow, this mother in Ukraine found Hope Across Borders.

We’re a small nonprofit based in Utah, yet when she needed help feeding her child, she reached out to us.

We jumped at the chance to help.

Not with a large project or a major grant.

Just groceries.

Sometimes humanitarian aid isn’t complicated. It’s making sure a parent has food on the table and one less thing to worry about.
