for most of my teenage and adult life i’ve depended on substances to cope with my trauma, stress and overall mental health. i never considered it a problem- i never let it interfere with my responsibilities, but i was always waiting for the end of the day using alcohol as motivation.
not having the “one glass of wine” because it leads to 3,4,5, on a tuesday night. for the past week and a half ive stayed away from alcohol. and here’s what ive experienced:
• less anxiety
• more energy during the day
• better sleep
• body inflammation and physical changes in my face
not everyone is ready for the wake up call on how damaging excessive drinking is - and that’s okay!! we’re using “fun” healthy drinks around here in replacement!
