A quick reminder this time of year to be aware of Medicare marketing calls.

If someone is calling you about Medicare, their job is simple: enroll you in whatever plan you’re not currently on. These calls are coming from large call centers, often out of state, and you will rarely ever speak to the same person twice.

Common phrases they use include:
“Benefits you haven’t claimed”
“Are you not getting your free groceries?”

These callers are not local, they don’t know you, and once the enrollment is done, you will more than likely never hear from them again.

Prior Authorization Coming to Traditional Medicare Starting in 2026 The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will implement prior authorization requirements for certain traditional fee-for-service Medicare services in six states starting next year.
