Mintabie Solid Opal – 2.475 ct Cabochon
This Mintabie semi-crystal opal cabochon features an exception variety of patterns and rainbow of colors, including a striking grey body tone tone (N6-N7) and subtle translucency and an exceptionally vivid play-of-color. The face displays a beautifully reflective polish that compliments its natural multicolor fire — while the back transitions into a deeper tone, revealing the crystal structure and internal depth.
Cut from high-grade Mintabie rough, this stone was shaped into a mirror-polished oval cabochon. Fire moves fluidly across the face as it rotates, flashing intense reds, oranges, greens, blues, violets, and yellows under both natural and artificial light.
