Dear International Students,
This Saturday is Celebration of Nations! Hosted by our Office of International and Cultural Affairs, this day is set aside to celebrate our diversity and for students and community members to showcase their culture.
The day will kick off with a parade at 11 am beginning at the edge of campus, running down Rolla Street, up Pine St. and ending near the Band Shell on 9th street. Many students and community members will march in the parade carrying their nation’s flag, some wearing traditional clothing from their home. Make sure your country is represented at this awesome event.
Following the parade, take some time to enjoy the live music, dance and the International Idol contest. Spend time visiting booths and tents of organizations, some of who will displaying items and foods from around the world. The air will be filled with the smell of delicious foods so be sure to bring your appetite and some cash.

Attendance at the festival and parade is free. It’s a great event for the whole family. Kids can pick up a “passport” and have it stamped by representatives from various countries. There will be a kid’s corner where kids can play games, dance with the Parai team, play on inflatables, and get their faces painted.
