Welcome to our new series: From Farm to Family! Meet the faces behind the Sandy City Farmers Market
First up is the wonderful Rachel Hoffman, who serves as Market Director of the Sandy City Farmers Market ✨🍅👩🌾
Her path into farmers markets started with her cousin Laura, who first pulled her into that world. What started as learning alongside family grew into a passion for building community through local food and makers.
Along the way, vendor Donna connected her with the Mayor of Sandy, who, along with many in the community, had long held the vision of a farmers market in the city. With support from city leadership, Events Manager Katie Atkinson, and now Sarah Dalling, that vision finally took shape and continues to grow.
Today, Rachel’s favorite part is simple: watching people show up week after week, for sweet corn, fresh tomatoes, sourdough bread, flowers, and the kind of handmade pieces that end up living in homes for years.
For her, it’s never just been a market. It’s been about building something Sandy residents & the surrounding community can feel a part of.
And every season, it just keeps getting better! ❤️
