🍫✨ It’s Chocolate Babka Time! ✨🍫
This isn’t just bread—it’s a buttery, flaky, chocolate-swirled dream. Inspired by Uri Scheft’s legendary recipe, our babka starts with a rich yeast dough layered with blocks of butter (think puff pastry vibes). We roll it out, spread on a generous layer of Nutella, sprinkle in chocolate chips, then roll it up like a cinnamon roll.
Here’s where the magic happens: we slice it lengthwise, twist it into a beautiful braid, let it rise, and bake until golden. A final glaze of syrup gives it that irresistible glossy finish.
The result? Crispy edges, gooey chocolate pockets, and layers of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Perfect with coffee, tea, or just because. 💛

In just TWO WEEKS, you'll be able to find us at Munchie Market hosted by ! Here's a sneak peek at our planned menu with just a few pics of our goodies.

You'll get to taste our award-winning Marshmallow Butterscotch Blondies, our tested-and-perfected S'mores Bars, our well-practiced rich Chocolate Babka, along with some sugary treats. If time allows, there may even be a "secret menu" of sorts!

The Merely Creative Household took a short vacation to venture south. Cheese tried to join us, but couldn't quite fit in the luggage. One of our stops was the USS Alabama Battleship museum in Mobile, AL. I can't even IMAGINE trying to bake in that tiny space. However, the equipment and the actual kitchen size didn't look too shabby. I guess it can't be when you're feeding that many Navy men!

Home again with kitties to keep us (and our laundry) well guarded. Back to cooking, baking. You'll see some things popping up for pick up here shortly, such as a family favorite, cranberry pistachio biscotti.

Been quiet over here in the Rau Haus while we recover and reassess some things after the last few markets. Not going anywhere, but I definitely needed some quiet, some kitty time, and a chance to think about our focus. Cheese and Nacho (and the elusive Princess Pepper) have been happy to provide lessons in focusing on treats, naps, and twisty ties. See you all soon with more creations, my friends!

This weekend has been filled with event prep, final test work, and yes, kitty time. We have some mini-Challahs, Pistachio Cranberry Biscotti, and a test batch of rosemary-parmesan pinwheels pictured here. I'll have these at Two Plumbers next weekend, along with some more goodies and laser art.

As always more creativity to come that I can't wait to share with you!
