1. NEVER give out your bank details to a source you don’t know and trust.

2. If you’re selling something and someone overpays, do NOT send any overpayment back to the person until the check clears. Otherwise, you’ll owe the bank the full amount if the check bounces.

3. Always verify a suspicious caller’s identity through a second source.

4. Do NOT send gift cards, cash, or wire transfers!

5. If someone is urgently requesting you to pay, slow down and check into it. Legit companies don’t typically demand payment on the spot.
