🧡🐾 Meet Bailey 🐾🧡

This sweet little girl is about three weeks old, and we’re thrilled to share that she has finally turned a corner and is drinking her KMR! 🍼

Bailey came to us after a kind-hearted caretaker reached out for help. He was doing everything he could for six kittens and their mom, but the kittens were suffering from severe upper respiratory infections. They had runny noses, difficulty breathing, and badly infected eyes. Some eyes had become so damaged that they ruptured.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, most of the litter was simply too sick. One kitten passed before we could intervene, and we sadly lost Jack, Jamison, Evan, and Harper.

After the loss of the other kittens, Bailey was separated from her mom, Johnnie. This is never our first choice, but we felt it was necessary for Bailey’s wellbeing. Mom was not taking great care of the babies, and we needed to make sure Bailey was receiving enough food and nutrients to give her the best chance possible.

Bailey was the largest and strongest of the kittens, but she still had a tough road ahead of her.

Today, we’re celebrating a small but important victory. She’s eating, she’s fighting, and she’s showing us that she wants to be here. 🧡

She is now receiving expert care from one of our amazing fosters, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that she continues to grow stronger every day.

Momma cat, Johnnie, is scheduled to be spayed on Monday and will then return to the caretaker who loves and looks after her.

Please keep Bailey in your thoughts as she continues her recovery. And if you’d like to help support her care and the many other animals who come through our rescue, donations are always appreciated.

An anonymous donor has generously offered to match all donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,000, through the end of this week. That means every gift made right now will be doubled and go twice as far in helping animals like Bailey receive the care they need.

🧡🐾 Fabian is settling in nicely!

Some cats take days or even weeks to adjust to a new environment. Fabian walked in like he owns the place. 😹

Fabian came to us after a good Samaritan noticed him having a seizure and knew he needed help. Once he was in our care, we discovered he had a severe case of ear mites and a nasty ear infection.

Thanks to Dr. Rizzo and a treatment plan to get him on the road to recovery, Fabian is already doing so much better. Less than a week later, he’s feeling great, making himself at home, and soaking up the attention.

Fabian gets fixed on Monday, and then he’ll be ready to find his forever home! 🏡🐱

🧡🐾 Pet Project Alumni Spotlight: Monty 🐾🧡

Monty’s journey started during a TNR project when Lauren trapped him in a local colony. He had an excellent caretaker who looked out for him and the other cats every day.

The day before transport and surgery, I had about 25 cats staying in my garage. Every time I walked in to feed, clean, or change newspaper, one cat made sure I knew he was there. That cat was Monty.

He was sweet, social, and absolutely starving for attention.

We asked his caretaker if she would be open to us finding him an indoor home, and she agreed.

Monty stayed with me for a few weeks, and during that time he proved he was ready for a different life. He loved being around people, got along well with other cats, adored my dog, and always came running to see what I was doing whenever I walked through the door. His favorite spot was the bathroom sink, where he could sit and look out the window.

We are so happy to see him continuing his journey at Paws & Whiskers and hope his perfect family finds him soon. 🧡

Meet Monty!

This handsome boy is looking for his forever home! Monty is incredibly sweet, loves attention, and is as social as they come. He enjoys being around people and is always ready for love and affection.

Monty gets along well with other cats, dogs is currently unknown. His friendly personality shines through with everyone he meets. If you're looking for a loving companion who will happily soak up all the attention you can give, Monty may be the perfect match for you!

Monty is about 3 years old.
