These are tartrate crystals, sometimes called wine diamonds and chemically known as potassium bitartrate. They are formed when tartaric acid, a natural component found in grapes as well as bananas, binds with potassium under cold conditions to form a crystalline salt.
Do not be alarmed if they show up in your bottle or wine glass or on your cork, as they are viewed by many winemakers, sommeliers and academics as a sign of quality, indicating that the wine has not been overprocessed.

Our Story
Our winemaking approach is simple; make exceptional wine from carefully selected artisan vineyards that express Sonoma Coast's unique character.
The name COSA OBRA is comprised of two words:
COSA meaning "thing" and
OBRA meaning "a hand-crafted body of work"
“This is our thing, this is what we do, our hand-crafted body of work”
