A Cricut mat confession 🫣

Apparently I’ve been running a Cricut mat retirement home for the last 5 years. 😂

I didn’t realize how many old Cricut mats I’d collected until I piled them all up like this.

Some of these can still be cleaned and brought back to life.
Some are only good for certain materials.
And some have absolutely done their time and deserve honorable discharge. 🫡

My general rule:

• **Clean it** if it’s just lost grip from lint, paper dust, or buildup

• **Keep using it** if it still holds material evenly after cleaning

• **Retire it** if only the corners stick, the middle won’t hold, it’s badly warped, or cuts are tearing up your material

Also… this may be my sign to stop treating old mats like emotional support supplies. 😅

So tell me:
Do you clean your Cricut mats, reuse them for messy materials, or replace them the second they start acting up?

Before you replace your Cricut mat, try giving it a gentle reset. 😅

I scrape off the loose bits first, gently wipe with fragrance-free/alcohol-free baby wipes, then let it air dry completely sticky-side up.

The keyword is gently. Don’t scrub it like it owes you money.
