WEDDINGS // on the casting docket today. 2 white gold bands. First, my Basin ring will be set with a beautiful sapphire for a lucky guy. The other is a wedding band remake into something that suits her more today. I’ll set it with the original center diamond from the engagement ring and a spray of diamonds from her wedding band.

HOT TAKE!! // do you ever watch the videos of people who dig in the Thames river and pull up beautiful treasures that have been discarded or lost in the river? I love a good treasure hunt and these videos get me every time. I especially love that many of the things that are found in the river are not what most would call “precious”. They’re often made from glass, brass, pewter sterling silver, and yes, sometimes gold. While it is a precious treasure of the past, it is not (often) going to make you rich in anything other than the joy it brings when it’s found.
Brass is an heirloom metal! If you found this on the bottom of the river or in the ocean, you could pull it out polish it up and it would look exactly the same as it does today. Just. Like. Gold.
A friend brought me her favorite ring, which was a cheap old button with a plastic gemstone set in the top that was fashioned into a ring with a bit of gold fill wire. While it wasn’t expensive, it made her really happy and she loved wearing it! The wire had broke and she wanted me to repair it. Instead of redoing the wire and leaving her with the cheap version of a ring I asked if we could make a mold and create the ring out of brass. Instead, she wholeheartedly agreed, and I am pretty obsessed with how this ring turned out in the end!
We molded the original button, and then added a ring shank, and then set the plastic gemstone upside down, revealing the beautiful facets. This piece is truly an incredibly fun and wonderful gift that she can definitely pass down.

YOU PICK // which one would you pick for your engagement ring? These beauties are un-heated Montana Sapphires. Guys!! they came out of the earth with this potential!! I can’t get over how rad Mother Nature is. So tell me A, B, C, D, E, F from top to bottom, which would be your pick?
SUMMER SCHEDULE // looking for something fun but chill to do this summer? Join me for a few hours a week to discover your next favorite thing - wax carving + sand casting!! Let’s make something together!
3 classes are now live on my website including a new bangle class, which I’m personally so excited about!
If you’re in the Seattle area and like using your hands, learning new things, and relaxing at the end of the day doing something a little different than the TV then look no further!
All classes are condensed now to four weeks instead of six and are three hours in length instead of two, so we can make room for all the other summer fun we want to have!
NEW STUDIO MOOD // I can’t stop thinking about my upcoming garage take over. I am building out a space that will serve many purposes. First off, it’ll be a fully functioning metalsmithing studio with all of my casting equipment and my jewelry making benches. The second purpose will be a place to host clients to talk about their custom jewelry needs. It will also have a large space to teach my classes in. Mind you all of this needs to happen in a 250 ft.² old garage! But I think I’ve got a good start. I am obsessively checking FB marketplace for the right pieces. I’m definitely attracted to sparkly things and obviously you need to be flexible with hunting used furniture so some of this will be flex, but using this mood board will help me from going off the rails. Wish me luck guys!
