April 2026 we surpassed year 6. There's something worth naming plainly, for those of you who've been with us from the beginning or who are just now finding us.
SlipStitch Studio, the company that opened its doors in Pioneer Square Seattle in April 2023 closed its final chapter as a gallery on April 30, 2025. That entity has stepped back from its public-facing role and moved into a quieter function. What it built, though, didn't disappear.
On May 1, 2025, SlipStitch was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization. Same mission. New physical space in Georgetown as of 2026. Same commitment to the artists and community we've always centered. The structure just finally matches the values we've operated by from the start.
This wasn't a rescue or a reinvention. It was a deliberate step that Otto and I have been working toward for years. Nonprofit status isn't a workaround; it's the honest framework for what we're actually trying to do: build something artist-centered, community-rooted, and built to last.
We're grateful for everyone who has shown up, supported the work, and believed in what this space can be. There's so much more ahead.
...just a post-it note from Devon, Executive Director & Brd. VP
