Dyeing Yarn with Candy Hearts - Taking Advantage of Leftover Candy!

I dyed this particular yarn in a January 2025 livestream, but I also have some edited episodes of Dyepot Weekly focused on dyeing yarn with candy hearts. There were two brands of conversation hearts used here and some were a few years old.

How does this work? Combine artificial food coloring (from the candy) with heat, acid (vinegar), water, and a protein based yarn (wool, alpaca, silk, etc. This won't work on acrylic or cotton), and you can create some fun patterns!
