For the finest and smoothest table surface, I do it in low light. A friend came by the humble shop this evening and took this nice shot. Not often I get to see myself at this station. The years of making tables are adding up. I deem it as one of my most important work. The dining table is the epicenter for love, laughter and memories in every home. I can’t believe we get to create that space.

It’s close to NYE and allow me to take a moment to reintroduce myself. My name is Thao Tran and I’m the owner, solo practitioner of Fallen Trees Wood. Having been a community activist, mayoral staff, a state lobbyist and a German Marshall Memorial Fellow where we met at historic tables in NATO, United Nations and Parliaments, this is my current and preferred board room. I don’t take this work lightly. Carpenters for centuries have done careful work to spread love and merriments to homes. Thank you for all those that supports my work in the past, present, and future. I look forward to serving you in 2021.
