At the start of 2026, we asked partners and colleagues a simple question: What’s one inspiring or encouraging trend you’re watching for the future?
One theme we heard again and again was the recognition that progress depends on widening who is seen, heard, and trusted as a source of knowledge and leadership—across generations, backgrounds, and first-hand experience.

We are proud to introduce the inaugural cohort of the Jackie Bezos Researcher in Residence program.
Meghan Orman and Andrew Nalani have joined the Foundation for a yearlong fellowship to advance our research agenda, advise on the Foundation’s research investment strategy, expand grant and partnership opportunities, and elevate community-engaged research.
This prestigious role, named for our co-founder Jackie Bezos, reflects her enduring belief that science has the power to transform lives when it reaches educators, families, policymakers, and young people. We’re honored to continue her legacy through this program and excited to share the impact of Meghan and Andrew’s work in the year ahead.
