Beautiful Liberty (LIBBY) has joined her dad and fursister in heaven at the wonderful age of 16. Her family came from Michigan to adopt her in 2017 and gave her a wonderful life after arriving at SSR from a less than desirable BYB in MO. Thank you Ellen for loving her and giving her the happy life she deserved.

Congratulations BENNIE (adopted, age 5 in 2020). You are every bit as handsome as you were 6 years ago. Keep up the good work!

In 25 years doing Sheltie Rescue, I have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people, some whom have become very dear friends. This week, I sadly learned of the passing of one of those very dear friends (my ornery ole Irishman, Dennis O'Rourke). We had chatted only 2 days earlier. Dennis adopted only the 2nd sheltie (Annabelle) I placed doing rescue and we have stayed in touch through relashionship changes and moves for both of us ever since. Rest in peace, dear friend. I know you were greeted by many shelties at Rainbow Bridge, including his last SSR alum "Shammy" who I was told was laid to rest only a few days after Dennis. I will miss you.

Mama Julee....your baby boy Winston "formerly Cinder" (now 4.5 yrs old) has come back to the SSR nest, no fault of his own. He's resting well and settling in as well as expected. I promise to take good care of him and find him a new home to love him unconditionally.

Sheltie Shack Rescue's ANNUAL.....firework hideaway visit. While we still have them here on the lake too, they don't last as long as the visitors do go back home!

Dori aka "WooWoo, the singer" was pretty proud of herself posing this pretty. 3 1/2 year old, 14 #, Dori, had a great wellness exam and is ready to meet a new and adoring family. She isn't perfect (are any of us?). She is noise sensitive/nervous (traffic, loud noises, storms, etc.) and will require a quieter community than where she last lived. She is completely vetted and reliably house trained. She will do best in a home where someone is home or schedules are staggered, without small children and with a securely fenced yard. Inquiries will be addressed through e-mail addy ([email protected]) or privately in FB messenger. The adoption requirements, more photos with bio and the application can be found on the SSR website (www.sheltieshack.com). We are located in far southwestern Missouri (Shell K**b). We do NOT ship. Adopter must be willing to come meet our dogs in a safe environment and in the comfort zone of their foster home.

This pretty girl has joined Sheltie Shack Rescue. Dori is originally a breeder release due to not producing litters. She is a small sable girl and 3.5 years old. Our lil SSR pistol "Emmy" was offically adopted by her foster family 4-24-26. Thank you Paula, Reily, Bo, and Oakley for putting up with her shenanigans since last August and deciding she hasn't been so bad after all. 🤣

Our beautiful Sheltie Shack Rescue alum Beau sucumbed to cancer earlier this week. Thank you Ev and Wally for coming all the way to Shell K**b, MO from Illinois to adopt this precious boy, along with his supporting staff (Linda and Beth) whom assisted in making this a successful, long distance, adoption. Beau was initially pulled from an area animal shelter. He was such a delightful boy; however, unfortunately, he had more medical issues than any one dog deserved (glaucoma, heartworms and lastly prostate cancer). God's speed precious boy....you were very loved.
