A man identified as Kingsley Ikenna Ughelumba, who claims to be the biological father of Nigerian footballer Calvin Bassey, has gone viral after making an emotional plea to reunite with his children. He said he has been separated from them for about 18 years and is seeking forgiveness and reconciliation.

He explained that a long-standing disagreement with Calvin’s mother led to the breakdown of their relationship and caused him to lose contact with his sons. He also called on Nigerians to help mediate and appeal to his ex-wife so he can be allowed to see his children again.

According to him, his plea has nothing to do with Calvin’s fame or success, but is simply an attempt to mend a broken family bond.
