Friday night repotting
Anthurium Repotting — quick & easy 🌿
1️⃣ Timing matters
Repot in spring or early summer when Anthuriums are actively growing. Avoid winter unless roots are severely compacted or rotting.
2️⃣ Use an airy mix
Choose a chunky, fast-draining blend: orchid bark, perlite, charcoal, and coco coir or peat. Roots need oxygen more than constant moisture.
3️⃣ Size up gently
Only go 1–2 inches wider than the current pot. Oversizing holds too much water and increases the risk of root rot.
4️⃣ Protect the crown
Keep the plant at the same height—never bury the crown or stem. Exposed aerial roots are normal and healthy.
5️⃣ Aftercare is key
Water lightly after repotting, keep humidity high, and skip fertilizer for 3–4 weeks to reduce stress.
