Gilded

This piece is truly turning into a labor of love and I’m not really sure I’m lovin this piece right now 😂😂 I still don’t get why someone would’ve painted so many layers onto this lovely wood, which was inadvertently saved by the layers upon layers of paint. Looks like it was repainted atleast twice. Now that we’re down to the wood, I’m seeing there are a lot of ornamental moldings missing. I’ll be removing the hideous handles by cutting them off. The door at the opening will be replaced with French doors instead of a single, it is too wide and flimsy to have one door. I’ll be adding some moldings and using antiquing glaze to make that pop, then I’ll be using gold wax to highlight the crevices. This piece won’t be ready for some time so I’ll be taking on another project. Please keep your eyes peeled and feel free to IM us if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
