I collected several California Poppy Petals from my native plant garden (NOT from nature!!) and placed them within the pages of a great book, Nature’s Best Hope, written by Dr. Douglas Tallamy, which outlines the importance of native plants.  I pressed the flower petals until they were dried and perfect.  I then collected several agates along the Malibu coast, brought them home, and cut them into slices.  I used lapidary grade epoxy to sandwich the petals between the agates and let them cure.  I then cabbed each of these into different shapes; ready to become gorgeous jewelry representations of the beauty of California.
I then hand sawed California Poppy leaves out of sterling silver and hand engraved them to create the ring band for the ring and the background for the necklace.  I felt like this addition made these such special and unique representations of California.
Every single part of these pieces was hand created by myself in the beautiful state of California.

Nature is amazing if you notice it.
