A new debate is emerging around the growing number of "Repent" signs appearing across St. Tammany Parish.

For some residents, the signs serve as a heartfelt reminder to reflect, do good, and strengthen their faith. Others view them as reminiscent of end-times movements and apocalyptic groups that have historically predicted the world's imminent end.

Whether seen as an expression of personal belief, a community call to action, or a warning of darker times ahead, the signs are certainly getting people talking.

What are your thoughts? Are these messages an inspiring reminder, a cause for concern, or simply another example of free expression in our community?

Slidell Police shared a Facebook post detailing the outcome of a unique disruption call in late May.

“Some calls are serious. Some calls are strange. And then there are the ones involving a pig running wild at a local hotel, leading officers on a short-lived game of hide-and-seek,” reads the post.

Police officials said when they arrived at the hotel, the piglet hid underneath a police car.

“After a little patience, some careful coaxing and what we can only assume was a serious negotiation, officers safely guided the pig out from under the police unit and into custody,” officials said.
