Today, our own Jordan Klint of Harbor Country Mission was in Lansing testifying on two important bills: HB 5152 (Rep. Paquette) and HB 5153 (Rep. Andrews), both addressing how proceeds from mortgage foreclosure auctions are distributed. As we’ve shared before, these bills take aim at the ongoing exploitation happening in Berrien and Cass Counties—and in at least 40 counties across Michigan—where vulnerable homeowners facing foreclosure are being taken advantage of.

This is a serious issue, and we’re grateful to see it getting the attention it deserves at the state level. Thank you, Jordan, for stepping up and providing leadership on behalf of our communities.

Muhammad named athletic director at Benton Harbor schools BENTON HARBOR — Benton Harbor Mayor Marcus Muhammad was named the new athletic director at Benton Harbor Area Schools, and is expected to start July 1.
