One Small Sky Photography

As you know, all of my seniors are special to me—each one connected through teaching, music, or friendship. But sometimes, you get the joy of capturing your most beautiful niece in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Laney, you are the epitome of poise and grace. You shine with a beauty that is both powerful and quiet—rooted in love, strength, and true brilliance. Spending time with you and your mom was such a gift, and what a perfect evening it was.

I am beyond proud of you—for all that you are now and all that you will become. Keep shining, lovely one. The world is yours. xo Laney

When I first met Zoe, she was 3. She came into the preschool classroom with her mother and positively lit up when she saw the blank canvas on the easel. She grabbed the paintbrush, looked at her mother with huge, inspired eyes and said (and I quote) "Mom, can I Jackson Po***ck?" And she did, all over the classroom, and me, and the other teachers. And I knew then that I would love her forever. After that we wrote some musicals together, we played some piano, I watched her dance and choreograph, make art, I listened to her stories when she returned from Spain for a semester last year. I watched her
grow. right. up.

I got to do her portraits on a couple different evenings this week. It was impossibly fun! We talked about her plans going forward. She'll be applying to a bunch of schools near and far. And guess what she'll study? Just like that 3 year old I met so long ago. She'll study art history.

My job is impossibly good.
