Ok just so the question has been brought up: When and if electric vehicles really take off in popularity. Has there been any thought as to how our antiquated electrical system is going to handle the significant increase in load? Each one I put in is rated for 50 AMPS. (Your average household service is 100 AMPs) if you have a neighborhood with say 50% ev getting plugged into a charger each evening at roughly the same time well.... its gonna be. A mess.
Yes individual households will most likely have to upgrade to 200 AMP service but the does not solve the larger infrastructure issue for everyone.
