To my friends here in Washington and Oregon. I am looking to find someone to do a short term (six months) foster of a pair of huskies starting in Sept. A friend is moving up here from the southern US and needs to find somewhere for the dogs until he gets settled. If you know anyone or know anyone who knows anyone that could help let me know. They are well trained, house and crate trained, very affectionate with adults and children but are not good with felines. We are hoping to find homes so he does not have to put them up for permanent adoption since he loves them dearly. I would take them but my yard and home are dachshund secure and not husky secure as the fences are only 4 feet tall.

A sweet pup from a rescue I foster for. Please contact Hearts4Doxies for more info.
Chloe is ready for her forever home! This sweetheart will win you over with her sparkling personality and those beautiful eyes. 8 year old Chloe enjoys squeaky toys, tasty treats and to snuggle on a warm lap! She enjoys being with her humans around the house. She can live with gentle children 12+ who have been taught canine respect.
Chloe does well with other dogs, especially dogs that are close in size and energy level to her. No cats or other small critters. She also appreciates leisurely walks that allow her to take in all the interesting smells. A single family residence with a secured yard, a quieter/calm environment, home full-time, part-time or work from home is preferred and breed specific knowledge.
Consider adopting Chloe and making this cutie girl the next family member.

We said goodbye to Jake today. He had a bladder stone lodged in a spot that it could not be removed and was plugging the flow. Jake had been paralyzed from IVDD since 2008. Thank heavens he had no pain sensation down at that end so he was still happy and spunky. The vet said it was just a matter of hours or a day or two at the most before he became really really sick as his bladder and kidneys backed up and failed. Instead of stealing a bit of extra time we wanted to say good-bye with his can't stop me spirit still intact. So with a hand full of treats we chose to send him over the bridge with a full tummy and nose searching for treats and giving me till the very end.
Jake spent 10 wonderful years helping me educate folks on life after IVDD. Nothing slowed Jake down till the very end. I'm going to miss my little Wonder Wiener...the HotRod HotDog. We have shared the last 10 of his 13 years and it has been an adventure.

Today DachsieHaven had to say goodbye to a special little Girl. Gretchen just celebrated her 5 year anniversary at Camp Dachsie on February 22nd. She came to us as a nine year old paraplegic who due to arthritis, muscle degeneration and morbid depression was barely able to lift her head up in the kennel. We didn't think she'd live to see the end of March. We moved her into her little orange stroller and reintroduced her to the world. She perked up and became a feisty little firecracker of a dog with a dachshund opinion on everything. She was a little chatter bug. She developed some issues in the last month and blood tests showed that her bone marrow was not properly manufacturing red blood cells. This morning she went back to the vet to have her levels checked again and the vet found that her bone marrow had basically shut down. So Gretchen crossed the Rainbow Bridge about 9 this morning. Hopefully she is now running free something she has not been able to do for almost 13 years.
