The Spring Street Barber Shop

Last week I had the privilege of visiting the nurses at the Labor and Delivery Department at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, where our BLESSING BOXES are delivered. I was able to hug the angel on earth, Katrina Jackson, that cared for us (physically, emotionally, and spiritually) throughout the delivery of our Stella. When Stella was born, we were in the thick of C0vid and were met with only masked faces. I probably couldn't pick any of the nurses we had out of a lineup, but I will always remember their compassion, and we will forever be grateful for it.

I was suffering with a very intense moment of disbelief and anger and reflection as I was laying in the bed in labor. Like just yesterday, I can hear Katrina's voice saying to me "Jesus is holding Stella for you right now". And when we reunited at the hospital the other day, she immediately asked me how long "Stella has been with Jesus". There is no greater comfort that could have been given to me then, or now. For one thing, she used my baby's name - acknowledging her life. Most importantly though, she reminded me that I have a peace inside of the pain.

There is absolutely nothing that can take away the agony of losing a baby. But when you know Jesus, nothing else has to be said. That statement says it all - Stella is safe, she is loved, she is there waiting for me, and He will make sure the pain we endured is used for goodness. And He has done just that.

Blessing Boxes are boxes filled with love, prayer and compassionate words from fellow brothers and sisters in loss. They are filled with items that are intended to provide comfort during those first dark hours, days, and weeks following loss. They are gifts from our Stella, and all of the angel babies like her.

We invite you to help us support this cause at our Blessing Box Dinner Night THIS Saturday, August 19th. We will be at Spring Street Barber Shop from 5:00 - 7:00 serving up BBQ plates (menu attached). You are invited to stay and eat with The Tribe, or take a plate to-go. You won't just be getting an amazing home-cooked meal (cheaper than a restaurant), you will get the blessing of helping others - and there's no greater gift.
