The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), or fall open enrollment, takes place each year from October 15 to December 7. You can review your current Medicare Advantage Plan or Part D prescription drug plan. If needed, you can make changes such as switching plans, enrolling in a new plan, or dropping a plan. Your new coverage choices will then take effect on January 1. Be sure to take a look at your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) sent in September. Depending on the service area, your plan may be discontinued, and you may need to choose a new plan.
