🍂 New Abstract Landscape

Just wrapped up this oil-on-canvas-board painting. I was playing with fall color, reflections, and that hazy, in‑between weather that makes everything feel a little quieter. It ended up being a mix of structure and looseness, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

I am revisiting floral compositions and feeling confident about this new painting thus far. I am pleased with the underpainting and intend to exercise restraint when adding oils to avoid overworking the piece. This will undoubtedly require discipline, as I have a tendency to overwork my art, particularly floral subjects. However, by focusing on shapes and tones in the underpainting, I established the dimensional foundation before proceeding with oils. I am hopeful that this approach will yield successful results.
