Your District 2 Representatives had 3 Neighborhood Council Meetings this evening and as usual, we divide and conquer!
But we wouldn’t be able to do it without the help of our legislative aides Ginny and Andres who represent us and give the City Council updates during the meeting. 👏🏽👏🏽

Today, the Civil Service Commission unanimously passed this resolution which adds 5% to the passing exam scores of candidate’s who speak any language other than English!!

This is a great step toward equitable hiring practices in the City and building a workforce that can serve ALL residents in Spokane. If you are fluent in multiple languages, now is a great time to apply for a City job!

The City of Spokane, in partnership with EHF, CAT, and Family Prolise of Spokane, is opening additional scattered site facilities for people experiencing homelessness.

As a Spokane City Councilmember, I want to echo Chief Hall’s support and assurance that the Keep Washington Working Law will be fully enforced by our SPD. As a Spokane Immigrant, I want to reassure my community that I am working with various organizations on scheduling Know Your Rights workshops to prepare you with any unlawful encounter without a warrant. Remember, regardless of your documentation status, YOU HAVE RIGHTS! ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿. Como una de las concejales de la ciudad de Spokane, quiero reiterar el apoyo del Jefe de Policía Kevin Hall de que nuestro Departamento de Policía de la Ciudad de Spokane hará cumplir plenamente la Ley Keep Washington Working.
