“Blue Day” 12x16 pastel painting

“Shark River Sunset”12x16”pastel on 400 grid UART. First time I used Gesso, an opaque primer that creates texture for pastels. ( see foreground grasses and background land mass). Will try it to create sand on beach scenes. Painting loosely based on photo reference by Dave Schofield.
