Hi friends! I’ve started refinishing furniture and now I can’t stop 🙃 I made this page to share my projects, before and afters, and all the trial and errors.

Over the weekend I did a ‘make your own cutting board class’ with my cousin. It was a good time and got to work with a bunch of different tools and saws I’ve never used before.

My last two projects for a while are completed.
Taking a break for a couple of reasons.

1.- I’ve given myself tendinitis in my wrist. The only real cure for that is rest, not more sanding and painting. 😕
And 2.- We’ll be moving to Dallas over the summer. 😩
To be closer to Scott’s main office..

The chair needed to be re-webbed. I removed the previous webbing, adding some burlap under the cushion for added support, then added new jute webbing and stapled the crap out of it to ensure it would remain in place. lol

My first time to work on a chair. You could say she’s sitting pretty now. 😝

I can’t tell if this is genius or stupid..

Once I lined the backing I realized the drawers are too large to see it from the inside, so I flipped it around.
Now they don’t HAVE to go against a wall..?

Thoughts? 🙈

Starting cleaning up these guys this weekend, and WOW! What a little degreaser bath can do!
Imagine cleaning nearly 100 years of dirt and grime off.
I didn’t think to take before/after pic until the last side, but take a look.
Now they look like two completely different woods, right? Even though they came from the same desk 🤔

Onto my next project. A ‘waterfall’ deconstructed desk from the ‘Art Deco’ period from the 1930’s.
Thinking I’ll keep the nightstands separate, decide what to do with the top and mirror. Maybe play with reupholstering for the first time for that cute little seat.
Last few photos are inspiration.
Any suggestions what direction I should go with them?
