Day 1 at 🎥
Sneak peek from our interview with Jeremiah Nemechek of Novus International, where we dig into trypsin inhibitors, soybean meal variation, and what it could mean for pig performance.
Why does this matter? Because the same soybean meal inclusion on paper may not always deliver the same results in the barn. Understanding anti-nutritional factors like trypsin inhibitors can help nutritionists and producers make better decisions around testing, formulation, and feed additive strategies.

🐷 “3 months, 3 weeks & 3 days.”
The classic answer for sow gestation length… until modern genetics changed the conversation. 😅
For years, 114 days was the rule. But today’s highly prolific sows are showing that biology isn’t always that simple.
It’s a bit like saying pregnancy is “9 months” when everyone knows it somehow becomes 40+ weeks and a lot of questions. 😂
As production evolves, the language and understanding around it should too.
That’s why Swine Lingo was created — to help bridge the gap between traditional terminology and modern swine production realities.

🐷 Swine production has its own language.
And if you don’t understand the terminology, it’s easy to feel one step behind.
That’s why Swine Lingo was created — to help producers, students, nutritionists, veterinarians, and industry teams better understand modern swine production.
🐖 Learn the terms.
📚 Understand the system.
💡 Make better decisions.
