Veterans continue to play an important role in our communities long after their service, and they deserve financial relief. I filed HB4952 earlier this year to give more property tax relief to disabled veterans. Essentially this bill ensures disabled veterans with a 60% or higher service-connected disability would pay no property taxes on their home.

This bill is important to me because I believe more veterans with service-connected disabilities should be eligible for homestead exemptions.

Expanding meaningful financial relief to Illinois veterans is a top priority of mine and I will continue working hard to improve their quality of life.

I’m proud to be in partnership with HSHS St. John's Children's Hospital in Springfield to collect toys for children during their ‘Christmas in July’ Toy Drive Program!

The seasonal program aims to support sick patients and their families while serving as a reminder that acts of kindness can happen any time of year. Every contribution makes a difference and creates moments of joy to children who need them most.

Our 'Wish List' can be found in the link below and all contributions will be collected at my district office: E-1 Stratton Office Building

Illinois families pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation, placing a significant burden on homeowners, farmers, and small businesses. Rising property tax bills continue to strain household budgets and make it more difficult for communities to attract and retain residents and employers.

We must stop making the problem worse and start delivering real property tax relief. One of my priorities is restoring the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF) revenue-sharing rate to 10%, ensuring local governments receive a fair share of state revenues and reducing pressure on local property taxpayers.

Capping the LGDF share to just 6.23% hurts communities and taxpayers, but we can reverse course if Democrats support real property tax relief.
