Mission: The Springfield "Baby Bottoms" Diaper Bank is a collaborative group dedicated to addressing the diaper gap in Springfield and its impact on families by:

Ensuring that families have an adequate supply of diapers for their children

Raising awareness that "basic human needs" include diapers and that these needs are not being met

Advocating for policy reform so that diapers are included as a "basic human need" for families

Vision: Our vision is to eliminate the disparities of diaper need in our community for ALL children.

Purpose:

The Springfield “Baby Bottoms” Diaper Bank supplies free emergency diapers throughout the community of Springfield through the partnership of social service agencies. This collective approach limits unnecessary duplication of services, reduces administrative expenses, expands physical access and works collaboratively to solve a basic human need at the community level for infants and young children.

History of the Springfield “Baby Bottoms” Diaper Bank:

The Springfield “Baby Bottoms” Diaper Bank was formed in 2014 by a collective group of agencies in the city of Springfield. These agencies recognized that families were facing a need in providing diapers for their children. Through much discussion and input from multiple community members, the City of Springfield Department of Health and Human Services led a collective team to address this through the formation of the Springfield “Baby Bottoms” Diaper Bank.
