A brief history of abilities would include singing lead vocal, tenor, and baritone harmony parts from early childhood. My father is a pastor and mother plays the piano and leads worship, teaching her three children these skills as well. I have studied the art of playing both acoustic and electric guitar in depth since 1982. By taking professional lessons and intricate personal study at home I have learned several styles and methods of playing - with particular attention to jazz, rhythm and blues, rock, folk, country and gospel. A short list of primary musical influences include: Phil Keaggy, Rich Mullins, Marty Stuart, Billy Crockett, John Mellencamp, Mark Knopfler, Michael Card and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Songwriting influences are similar, but also include John Hiatt, Kent Henry, Paul Baloche, Bob Bennett, Indigo Girls, The Civil Wars, Steve Earle, Bob Fitts, Randy Stonehill, Mark Heard, Pierce Pettis and Charlie Peacock
