Here’s a hat our industrial shop participant Matt embroidered for a 90 year old Korea and Vietnam War veteran friend of our program. He said he wanted a hat that he could wear with his veteran buddies. With this request Matt put his embroidery skills to work. We hope this fits the bill. Thank you for your service sir and thank you Matt for giving back to our community.

Our Arbor apprentice participants doing tree crew stuff at the Mass State Police Academy. Grateful to give back and learn a trade while working!

Happy to see our arbor participants contributing to beautifying the City of Springfield. Here they are removing a stump outside the Springfield Museums and Dr. Seuss Museum last week. When the Lorax calls you gotta answer the bell.

Congratulations to past Sheriffs Workforce Participants JJ and Justin and thank you Michael J Dias for recognizing the success in their journey. It’s an honor to have you as a partner in the community and thank you for all you do for people in recovery.

We are incredibly proud to recognize three of our current residents (from left to right- James, Trevon and Justin) who were among the graduates honored at the 27th Annual All-Inclusive Support Services (AISS) Graduation. 🎓

Surrounded by over 100 individuals committed to building better futures, these three men stood tall as examples of what dedication, accountability, and perseverance truly look like. Their journeys haven’t been easy—but they’ve shown up, put in the work, and made the choice every day to move forward.

This milestone is more than a certificate—it represents growth, resilience, and the courage to embrace a new path.

We are honored to walk alongside you in your recovery and proud to celebrate this achievement with you. This is just the beginning!!

Congratulations to all of the AISS graduates—you are proof that change is possible and that second chances can lead to powerful new beginnings.

One our favorite events of the year, the AISS Graduation. Our Sheriffs Workforce program as well as our sister Employment program and many other AISS programs get to recognize the recent and long term successes of many of our participants. Many of our participants come to AISS during times of transition or difficulties and through commitment and dedication they succeed with new employment and life skills. The Workforce would also like to recognize AISS’ staff that assist the participants on a daily basis. 👏 👏 👏

More than 100 people graduated from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department’s All-Inclusive Support Services program on Thursday.

Proud to report out that our former welding certificate graduate has been doing great working for a local demolition company. Steve recently left our Ludlow facility after finishing our welding program. He was put in touch with a community partner of the Sheriffs Dept and after his interview was hired. When asked how he’s doing his employer stated he’s on time, works well with others, works well on his own, knows his stuff and has already received a raise. An opportunity like this is helping Steve successfully return to the community and support himself and his family. Please join us in congratulating Steve and thanking Associated Building Wreckers.

Last week our tree crew instructors and apprentices attended the ArborExpo at the Big E in West Springfield. Our participants were thoughly impressed by the scale of the expo and, importantly, by how well our Arbor Apprenticeship program was received across the tree care industry. On Day 1, our instructor Ben teamed up with one of our participants and competed in an arborist skills competition sponsored by North American Training Solutions (NATS), a national leader in arborist training. We performed well, advancing to the finals and achieving 2nd place. On Day 2, they took the opportunity to demo a variety of specialized tree care equipment that they would not typically have access to. This hands-on experience was especially valuable for the participants and provided exposure to current industry tools and technology. In addition to the competition, they attended several classroom presentations covering topics such as team leadership, ANSI/OSHA standards, and dynamic forces in trees. The participants were highly engaged throughout, asking thoughtful and challenging questions. They also connected with several vendors and industry leaders. Events like this provided tremendous professional encouragement to our participants as progress through our apprenticeship program in preparation to enter the arbor industry.

A great excuse for spring cleaning your closet!!

Give a Suit. Change a Prom Night.

Prom is a night students remember for the rest of their lives, but not every student has access to the formal wear they need. This prom season, you can help make sure everyone gets their moment. 💙

We’re collecting suit donations to support local students who otherwise may not be able to attend prom in style. Schools have already started reaching out, and the need is real!

Right now we especially need smaller sizes:
• Men’s 36 & 38
• Boys 16, 18 & 20

If you have a suit in your closet that you no longer wear, consider donating it and helping a student walk into prom with confidence.

Drop-Off Location:
139 State St, Springfield
Donation Hours:
Fridays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
(or by appointment)

Every suit donated helps a student feel confident, celebrated, and ready for one of the most memorable nights of high school. Clean out your closet. Change a prom night. 😊
