A Place Prepared

Every person deserves to know they matter before they arrive.

As I prepared for the Founding Day of The Becoming Circle, I didn't simply arrange a table.
I prepared a place.
A folder.
A pen.
A bottle of water.
A chair.

Not because I knew who would sit there...
But because I believed that whoever eventually does deserve to know they were considered before they walked through the door.

That simple place setting reminded me of something much bigger.
Leadership isn't just about welcoming people when they arrive.
It's about preparing a place for them before they know it exists.

Yesterday, that chair represented possibility.
Today, it still does.

Because The Becoming Circle isn't waiting for perfect timing.
It's ready whenever someone is ready to stop surviving and start becoming.πŸ’™

Your place is already waiting.

Tomorrow, I'll share an unexpected gift from our Founding Day...
The neighborhood began introducing itself.

Month 7 - Living the Life I Built
Day 195 - Protecting My Peace

"What have I learned is worth protecting?"

There was a time when I believed protecting my peace meant disappointing people.
So I ignored it.

I overextended myself.
I tolerated unhealthy behavior.
I confused sacrifice with love and access with acceptance.

Today, I understand something very differently.

My peace isn't selfish.
It's sacred.

Protecting my peace doesn't mean I love people less.
It means I've learned to love myself enough to create healthy boundaries.

This photograph isn't about pushing people away.
It's about honoring the life I've worked so hard to build.

I've learned that every "yes" to what drains me becomes a "no" to what gives me life.

Today, I no longer apologize for protecting what helps me remain healthy, joyful, and whole.
Because the atmosphere I create for others begins with the peace I protect within myself.

Question
What have I learned is worth protecting?

My Answer
I've learned that my peace deserves the same protection I once reserved for everyone else.

Today, I protect it without guilt, because peace isn't something I found.
It's something I've built.

Peace isn't something I found. It's something I builtβ€”and what I've built is worth protecting.

THE FOUNDING STORY

Someone Opened the Door

Every legacy begins because someone is willing to open a door.

Yesterday marked the Founding Day of The Becoming Circle.

Before there could be conversations...
Before there could be participants...
Before there could be transformation...
Someone had to believe enough to open the door.

I'm deeply grateful to Vincent Anderson for entrusting The Becoming Circle with a home.

Yesterday, he didn't simply unlock a building.
He helped unlock a beginning.

Because of his generosity and the belief of our Founding Donors, The Becoming Circle now has a place where lives can be changed.

Every movement begins with someone willing to say,
"Yes, let's make room."

Yesterday...
The door opened.
And The Becoming Circle officially began.πŸ’™

(Tomorrow I'll share what was waiting on the other side of that door.)

Month 7 - Living the Life I Built
Day 193 - A Different Measure of Success

"How has my definition of success changed?"

There was a time when I measured success by promotions, career achievements, degrees, and professional recognition.

Those things mattered to me because they represented stability, accomplishment, and overcoming obstacles.

Today, success looks very different.

It looks like children who run to greet me when I arrive at Gina's Childcare Services.

It looks like little hands reaching for a book.

It looks like curious minds gathering to learn.

It looks like creating moments where children feel seen, safe, joyful, valued, and inspired to grow.

On this day, we paused our playground adventure, and I invited the children to gather around so we could practice the alphabet together outside instead of inside.

They could have been distracted by the playground around them.

Instead...
They leaned in.
They listened.
They learned.

In that moment, I realized something.

Success isn't measured by how many people gather around me.
It's revealed by what grows after they do.

The children didn't just hear the lesson.

They embraced the moment.

That reminded me that real influence isn't about commanding attention.
It's about creating an atmosphere where people genuinely want to engage, learn, and grow.

This photograph reminded me that success is no longer measured by what I accomplish for myself.
It's measured by the positive impact I leave in the lives of others.

I've learned that the greatest success isn't building an impressive rΓ©sumΓ©.
It's helping build confident, curious, and hopeful human beings.

Question:
What represents success differently than it once did?

My Answer:
Success is no longer about what I achieve.
Success is about the positive impact I leave in the lives of others.

"Success isn't becoming someone else.
It's becoming more fully yourself."

Tomorrow, We Begin.

Tomorrow, I'll open the doors to the Founding Becoming Cohort.

Over the past several months, I've poured my heart into creating a space where emerging adults can discover who they are, strengthen their foundation, and intentionally build the life they're becoming.

If you've been watching from a distance and wondering if this is for you...

There's still time.

The Founding Cohort is designed for emerging adults (ages 18–29) who are ready to invest in themselves and take ownership of their next chapter.
