June is Men’s Mental Health Month.

It’s easy to celebrate the wins. The successful projects. The events. The partnerships. The highlights.

What’s harder to talk about is what happens behind the scenes.

From late 2024 into the middle of 2025, I dealt with periods of depression following surgery. A lot of it came from uncertainty.

Questions about my health.
Questions about my future.
Questions about ColtreKicks.
Questions I didn’t always have answers to.

Some days were great. Some days weren’t.

What I’ve learned is that mental health isn’t always about being “strong.” Sometimes it’s about being honest. Asking for help. Leaning on people who care about you. Giving yourself grace while you work through things.

Today, I’m grateful to say I’m in the best mental shape I’ve been in for a long time.

I have an amazing family.
Great friends.
A growing business.
And a deeper appreciation for the things that truly matter.

If you’re going through something right now, know that progress isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s just getting through today and showing up again tomorrow.

Some shoes are made to stand out. Others are made to stand for something.

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to create this custom pair for Guardian Angel Settlement Association. Not as merchandise. Not for hype. As an honorary mascot and a reminder of the values they walk with every day.

“Path to possible.”
“You’re never walking alone.”
“Protected in every step.”
“Carried when you can’t stand.”

Every word placed on these shoes has purpose. Every step represents service, support, and showing up for people when they need it most.

That’s one of my favorite parts about creating customs. Shoes can become more than wearable art. Sometimes they become symbols. Sometimes they carry stories.

Grateful for organizations like Guardian Angel Settlement Association and honored to bring their mission to life one step at a time. 👟🪽
