ABOUT US
Strictly Audio was launched in 1985 when owner Bob Walther who was a television engineer for NBC Station KSDK was asked to supply equipment and technical support for a series of remote live audio broadcasts by 105.7 FM The River (now The Point). Bob was known around the metro area for being a live sound and recording engineer. One of those groups (Pale Divine) that was a part of the live broadcasts went on to be signed by a major label.

Prior to this, Bob hosted a radio show on KWMU FM called Gateway Jazz and featured live recordings around St. Louis. Bob engineered recordings featuring The Art Blakey Group with Wynton Marsallis on Trumpet, The Jeff Lorber Fusion Group featuring Kenny G on sax, and Hammond organ legend Jimmy Smith. Bob also recorded regional artists Beth Tuttle, Mae Wheeler, and Sandy Weltman.

As a working bass player, Bob’s session credits include Budweiser, Plaza Frontenac, and The St. Louis Cardinals. Bob also played on a single that spent sixteen weeks in the top 100 and was also used in the Universal Pictures Movie “White Palace” staring Susan Sarandon and James Spader. While a member of another local band, Bob had the opportunity to play on a session engineered by Tony Bongovi (owner of The Power Station in NYC).
