This block takes a page from the Easy Strength philosophy.
The approach is simple:
Low volume. Progressive overload.
We keep volume low to avoid unnecessary fatigue and limit residual effects from training. Then we gradually increase load to create just enough stimulus for adaptation without interfering with performance.
Simple isn’t easy!
Playing around with some new concepts for goalkeepers.
Goalkeepers use rapid stretch-shortening cycles in the upper body during saves. Goalkeepers need fast, reactive upper-body output.
For a goalkeeper that means faster hands, more explosive reach, and better reaction saves.
Brick by brick.
Youth strength is developed through motor control and coordination. Refine the movement first, then progressively add load overtime.
Too much, too soon equals capped potential.
Slow cook it. Don’t burn the steak!
Fake Throw Training:
Athletes must use body control to maintain correct postures against the mass and momentum of the ball.
Physical Literacy - being able to control the body, having the motivation and physical competence to execute action with the body, and knowing the physical, cognitive, and emotional benefits of performing physical activity.
