We’d like to thank Don Carr and Nick Bowcott for taking the time to demo these amps, and Sweetwater for producing the video. A great way to hear what each combo has to offer.

The Kingston, Lil’ Viper, and Starlite Reverb 10 each approach tone differently, all built with the same level of detail and feel you expect from a Magnatone.

They’re here performing at Jazz St. Louis for the Miles Davis centennial, April 8–12, just across from the Fox Theater where Darryl first played with Miles. If you’re in St. Louis this week, it’s worth your time.

Darryl spent time with a rare vintage Versatone bass amp while he was here, associated with Magnatone engineer Don Bonham. Jean-Paul tried a few of the new Magnatone amps and spent the most time with the Varsity Reverb.
