A career long brother in the International Association of Fire Fighters and a St. Louis Fire Department Captain, Jake Brockmeier followed in the footsteps of his father, grandfathers, and great-grandfather, who all served as firefighters. His great-grandfather lost his life in the line of duty, leaving behind a legacy of courage, sacrifice, and commitment to others.
Captain Brockmeier, while off duty, received a Life360 notification his daughter had been involved in a severe crash. He rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, Captain Brockmeier faced a scene that would shake any parent's core. Before emergency personnel could arrive, he began administering lifesaving care to his daughter, drawing on a lifetime of service and dedication to others.
Alyssa, the niece of SLMPD Sgt. Michael Simpson, has become a symbol of hope and resilience across both the law enforcement & fire service communities. While she survived the crash, her journey is far from over. She now faces a long path filled with medical treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery. To support Alyssa's journey, her family has set up a GoFundMe campaign. Every donation, no matter the size, as well as every share and prayer, is profoundly appreciated.
