This robot "artist" (Ai-Da) speaks to British Parliament on "art" created by artificial intelligence. It's fascinating, but I believe that the very nature of creativity (art, writing, music) is a HUMAN endeavor. Creativity, as we understand it, cannot be divorced from human intent. I'd like to think all my writer friends, artist friends, and musician friends agree on this point.

Artists like to talk about "healing" through creativity, and it may seem like one of those warm fuzzy things that glorify those in the art world (writing, painting, singing), but the connection between art and healing is real. AMY CURTIS had lyme disease which ate away at her brain long before it was discovered. Now she uses music and art to heal -- literally. Not just a good feeling from accomplishment, but to restructure her brain back to "normalcy" by learning 5 new songs a week with her ukelele. Compare the speech impediments in her spoken intros with her clear, eloquent singing. My favorite so far is her cover of "RAINBOW CONNECTION." I'm now an Amy fan, and I'm grateful she's showing us the way to healing through her practice of creativity.
