For some learners, specific words or phrases may be connected to past experiences, denied access, or transitions. This is why knowing a client’s triggers and staying mindful of language during session matters.
Mary E. McDonald, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, with Hofstra University/Eden II Genesis Programs, writes that trigger words can sometimes act as real antecedents for problem behavior in ABA.

Team PBS takes the CO Springs! 😎🏔️
Bess Perkins, PBS Colorado Regional Coordinator writes:
"Such a great time this past weekend at the Alpine Autism 5K down in the Springs! There’s something special about spending the day surrounded by an incredible community and connecting with others, learning about valuable resources, and just being present with people who care!"
Running a 5K right by Garden of the Gods? Not a bad backdrop at all! 😉
We're grateful for the connections made and already looking forward to the next one!
