I will be conceding the Mayoral race to my opponent.
There are an estimated 150 votes left to count county wide. Even if I got all of them (odds worse than the lottery), I would be short a baker's dozen.
A huge thank you to all my supporters and helpers during the campaign! Your kindness and words of encouragement were and are appreciated!
I am blessed. I'm living in a wonderful community with a loving and caring family and so many incredible friends.
Although I will miss being the mayor and working with one of the best staffs around, I am now free to pursue other servant leadership opportunities: providing food security in a very challenging time through GoodRootsNW, Sumner Rotary with all the programs and activities they support, and still raising funds for the new Sumner Library!

I listen, I lead and I deliver. I did so as a staff member for both Sumner and Tacoma. I did so as Mayor from 2018-2021. I continued to deliver as a citizen from 2022 to today. And I will deliver as your next Mayor. Talking about how one will lead is easy; delivering results is challenging. I have proven that I deliver results during challenging times. Experience matters!

Last Friday I was able to attend the Sound Outreach Luncheon For Financial Empowerment. Through gifts from corporations and individuals, Sound Outreach helps disrupt financial inequity by empowering residents most in need. They help clients secure better jobs at higher wages, build credit scores, and save more income through budgeting and goal-setting techniques.
Sound Outreach first started helping those most in need in Sumner during my first term as Mayor at the Center for Strong Families run by the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District. I was happy to be able to continue to help them provide this valued and needed service!

I just received notice that the East Pierce Firefighters, IAFF Local 3520 have endorsed my candidacy for Mayor of Sumner! I was especially proud of two statements in their notification.

"Firefighters stand with leaders who demonstrate integrity, commitment to public safety, and support for working families." "We value your proven experience in municipal leadership, your history of constructive engagement with labor unions, and your readiness to maintain open lines of communication with our union."

Thank you East Pierce Firefighters for your endorsement and the excellent service you provide to the City of Sumner!

Had a great time this afternoon joining in the celebration of a new soccer mini-pitch at Seibenthaler Park courtesy of the Seattle Sounders Rave Foundation. Great job by City staff and the Foundation to make this happen! The celebration was all free thanks to the Sounders FC partner American Family Insurance. I was able to help Dave Radcliffe, Mayor Hayden, and Cannery staff serve 380 free hot dogs courtesy of the Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse!
