Congrats to our very own Chase! He was awarded the “Super Worker” award, and not only that, but Chase was promoted from 1st grade all the way to 3rd grade! 🎉 he started school late (at 7 years old) due to battling cancer from 4-7, but he has worked SOOOO incredibly hard to make up for it and it shows. Chase has made tremendous improvements and strides academically, especially this year, and has remained his very outgoing, happy self, and a very kind friend.

To our friends who are not in school this year, or maybe doing hospital home bound, or home schooling, please do not lose hope. I️ was once there too, and it was a very heavy time. I️ say this to say, life after cancer CAN and will be better. To our friends who are celebrating graduations, milestones and achievements, we are so happy for you and proud of you! This is Chasing Life — keep doing just that!

Congrats to our Bubba. Bring on summer! 💙💛

Today makes 3 years since Chase rang the bell! 🔔

This is just SOME of what Chase went through over 2.5 years of treatment to be able to ring a bell:
834 days of chemo, 3 bone marrow biopsies, a bunch of blood and platelet transfusions, over 20 lumbar puncture’s inserting chemo in his spine, dozens of days in ICU, hundreds and hundreds of days admitted to the hospital, 10+ rounds of pneumonia, two liver biopsies, months of fighting an invasive fungal infection on his liver, kidney, spleen, lungs and heart and so many other horrible things he’s courageously overcome to beat leukemia and make it that far.

Ringing the bell doesn’t just mean they finished chemo. It means they overcame horrific things just to get to that point… and when they do, they deserve to be celebrated. We’re so thankful we get to play a part in that, even just by sponsoring their bell ringing cake/celebration. What a full circle moment!

Here are some throwbacks of Chase’s special day. He was very sick still in these photos. He had lost a lot of weight, he was battling pneumonia and had many admissions even after chemo stopped, but he’s a different boy now, and thankfully a healthy one! Better days do come! Keep fighting friends 🫶🏼

Mother’s Day breakfast dropped off to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital oncology floor this morning! No mother should have to spend their day here, but at least we’re able to hopefully bring some joy to their day while their in the hospital with their child. I️ too was that mom.

To some of the bravest, toughest and special moms around — we are here for you! You’re doing an incredible job, the hardest in the world.

We’re wishing you a happy Mother’s Day, and hold you close in our hearts each and every day. 💕🎗️💐

We know, we know, there’s too much cuteness in this post and we can’t handle it either. Meet Revere!! For those who don’t know, Revere joined St Joseph’s Children’s Hospital shortly after Chase was diagnosed with leukemia. We got to know and love him and then he became the official hematology/oncology floor therapy dog! He’s special to us, because while Tali was dealing with her little brother admitted so much during treatment, she would get some Revere time when she came to visit and she really enjoyed that. 🐾🎗️

This morning, I️ dropped off bell ringing cupcakes to our Child Life Specialist for a sweet girl who’s ringing the bell today in completion of cancer treatment, and how cool that Revere got to celebrate with her 🥰

Thank you friends who donate to make these happen. We have had quite a few for May which is amazing and we’re so glad Chasing Life Foundation gets to play a moment in a happy celebration like this!

Help us wish our new friend and very sweet Patria a happy sweet 16 birthday! 🎉

We met Patria through the Complex Care Clinic at St. Joseph’s Children’s and this girl has been through quite her fair share over the last 16 years but she keeps shining bright ✨ her mom and me chatted for a while and I️ got to learn about her and she has quite the personality! She loves the color blue, video games, drawing and sketching and even loves driving go-karts! We wish her a lifetime of happiness and good health.

We are so happy we could help you celebrate your special day! Keep Chasing Life girlfriend!! 💙💛

We have some new followers, so I️ wanted to reintroduce myself and share more about Chasing Life Foundation! My name is Alisha, I’m mom to Tali (almost 11) and Chase (9) and just your average mid 30s millennial mom! My son Chase is the inspiration behind our foundation. He was born with Down syndrome and has kept me on my toes ever since then, and at 4 years old, cancer crept up and quite honestly changed our lives forever. Chase has been through a lot at only 9, but those 9 years have completely altered my entire experience with life and have shown me just how special he is. You never think it will happen to you, until it does, and with that I️ decided to turn pain into purpose and try to be just one more resource for children who fight tough battles they never should have to, and the families fighting right alongside of them.

After Chase finished treatment for leukemia in 2023, I️ knew our experiences over the last 9 years of his life could really be helpful to parents like me. Our foundation is only a year old, but we have been able to do meaningful work in a short year, have made genuine connections and friendships and have been able to stand besides families who need support, because we know exactly what they are going through. Being a “cancer mom” is not a title I’ll ever wear proudly, but being a mom, who fought through cancer with my son, made something positive out of that experience and WILL be there as others fight through it with their kids, is. Chasing Life may have been our cancer journeys motto but it has surpassed cancer and has truly become our life journeys motto in general. It serves as a purpose and a reminder to make the most out of life and every day we are given and to keep pushing forward no matter what challenges we may face, to live each day with strength, determination, bravery, a kind heart and a smile — oh and maybe even a bunch of fries, pizza, and ice cream, like Chase does.

Every penny we have raised has gone directly to a child battling cancer, or has some other life threatening or severe medical condition and their families. If you’re a parent who’s reading this, if you’re struggling, if you’re having a bad day, if you’re scared, want to cry, scream or curse cancer to the core — I️ am your girl and I️ am here for you. I’m not just a nonprofit, I’m a mom, the same mom who’s lived first hand the grueling life of pediatric cancer, the same mom who’s slept in the most uncomfortable chairs in the ICU, heard to the same beeps and alarms, measured chemo, held my kid down for port access, scans, etc., taken the 2am trips to the ER, plopped down on the hallway floor to cry, even tried to crack a joke about trauma every now and then. I’ve been there and I’m still there some days and I️ truly get it. My email, inbox and cell are always open for you. Pinky promise. 🤍

To our supporters, I️ can’t thank you enough. Thank you for allowing me to heal through our foundation. Thank you for supporting the mission, for helping give these brave kids a shot at Chasing Life! Say hello, stay in touch, let me know how I️ can help.

And if you find it in your heart and want to donate, we’re always thankful for that! We sponsor all the bell ringing celebrations for the oncology kids at our local hospital and have some brave warriors who need some help, as well as some special events coming up we could use help with!!

Last night was an amazing experience at Finn's Fighters 7th annual gala! The work they do for the oncology community is truly incredible, myself as an oncology mom being a recipient of some of the programs they fund! From that — friendship, mentorship and the ability to help our very own children’s hospital together has blossomed. My eyes were teary most of the time but my heart was so full.

Being able to see so many friends, hug the very same doctors that helped save Chase’s life and get him through cancer was a full circle moment. What a blessing this organization is to so many. Thank you so much for having me and my daughter Tali attend. I️ left inspired and in awe. PLEASE be sure to follow them, the amazing work they do and the most wonderful people they are! 🖤🎗️💛

St. Joseph's Children's Hospital child life team is setting up a bell ringing today! A brave little girl is about to ring the bell after completing cancer treatment and to celebrate, she requested pink cupcakes with cats on them 🐈 💕

Every month, we sponsor cakes and decor for EVERY bell ringing celebration for the pediatric oncology patients at St. Joes Children’s. The child life team organizes these, asks the patient to pick their cake or cupcakes, flavors, theme, colors and then send it over to us so we can make it happen. Thanks to our wonderful supporters and donors of this program, Chasing Life Foundation gets to play a part in a special moment of happiness for these children and their loved ones after all they have been through.

We’re so happy for this beautiful girl and her family! We wish you all the best and a lifetime of good health.
