Mr. Norton serves as the Water Resources and Planning Manager for the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA), and as the Authority Administrator for the Lake Elsinore and San Jacinto Watersheds Authority (LESJWA). Mr. Norton currently serves as a ASCE Region 9 (California) Governor and Chair of the ASCE Region 9 Water & Environment Committee.

Topic:
“Introduction to Insulation Coatings”
By: David Hunter of Mascoat Inc.

Thermal Insulative Coatings (TIC’s) are coating systems which have not only the properties of many traditional coatings systems, but have the added benefit of having properties similar to conventional insulation for temperature and noise control. Although TIC’s have been on the market for over 15 years, their general market acceptance is just coming to fruition. This presentation will compare and contrast insulative coatings with conventional insulation, and describe the uses, features, benefits and limitation of insulative coatings.

David Hunter is Managing Director, SE Asia for Mascoat, a specialty coating manufacturer. During his 18 year career, David has performed application & in-service inspection of coating in 20 different countries, giving him a unique perspective of best practices for corrosion control methods across multiple industries, including Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper, Power, and Water / Wastewater Industries. A published author in magazines like MP, Coatings Pro & JPCL, Hunter is a Civil Engineer, Protective Coatings Specialist, and an Instructor for both NACE & SSPC corrosion societies.
