Cancellation of Chili Cook-off
LEA would like to thank those who RSVP’d to attend or entered the chili cook-off. With peoples’ busy schedules and a lack of RSVP’s to attend the event, LEA will be cancelling the chili cook-off. The chili cook-off is a LEA event favorite and we hope to be able to reschedule for May or June. Our apologies for any inconvenience the cancellation may pose for you.

With the upcoming Hayden renovation, this is our last chance for a Chili Cook-Off, one of our favorite LEA events! However, we haven’t received very many RSVPs or volunteers to assist. At this point, we don’t think we can hold the event unless we see there is more interest.

So-today’s the last chance – RSVP, volunteer for 30 minutes, or enter a chili by 5:00 PM today. If we get enough responses, we’ll hold the cook-off as planned on March 14th from 11:30am to 1:30pm. In addition to chili, LEA will provide cornbread, dessert, chips, and drinks. Cost is $5 at the door (but you need to RSVP so we know how many people are coming).

Chili contestants are our stars and attend for free. If you’d like to enter the contest, please plan on bringing enough to fill at least a 5-qt crockpot. A limited number of crockpots are available to borrow, but chili chefs are encouraged to bring their own. There will be three prizes: Best Use of Spice, Most Creative, and Best Overall - winners get to keep the trophies!

We need help decorating, set up, serving, and clean-up. Volunteer for at least a 30-minute shift, and get into the event for free.
